I realized that I lost myself in my journey of finding my true and most authentic self 520 days in. I started my journey for myself and to love myself. I did it to accept, embrace and feel confident in my skin. I did it not to seek approval or validation of others but of myself. However, I lost myself when I started to involve other people in my journey and worried more and more each day about what they might think. For example, if they saw that I grew or felt confident in my skin. The more I worried, the less I felt assured and, the more I feared being myself and being accepted for who I was becoming. It wasn’t until a few days ago that I decided it was time to restart this journey for the simple reason that I needed to find myself again and to make this journey once again, for myself.

I decided that it was time to put the bs aside and stop worrying so much about others and worry about what I was focusing on and shift that focus to what I would rather have in my life and what I would want less of. It was, in a way, like a detox.

So, as the new year began, I took the opportunity also to start my journey once again. I took the initiative for myself, and I invite you to do the same. I invite you to begin a journey of self-discovery. It is a beautiful process. And even if you get lost in the process, it is the recognition of specific patterns and triggers that help you grow.

I, for one, have found it exciting and constant motivation to discover who I am. Because the more I do so, the more of a curiosity I get of wanting to know more about others. Because if we realize that we are a never-ending encyclopedia of experiences, memories and opportunities, then others might as well have that. So, I invite you to find that curiosity within to find out more about yourself, because you may find yourself more interesting than you can imagine.
