One day at a time

One of the hardest things to do when we are harming or sabotaging ourselves in any way is to accept that we are doing that to ourselves. And maybe, that isn’t even the most challenging part; maybe, it is the fact that has to accept that the reason we are hurting ourselves is nothing other than the lack of love we give to ourselves. And it may not be because we don’t love ourselves, but it may be because we aren’t giving ourselves the love we deserve. We go through moments of pain, moments of sadness, and even moments of joy, but our reaction to those moments is a big part of how we show that we are there for ourselves. It isn’t always that we don’t want to be there, it is just that we don’t know how, or maybe we try too hard. It is like being on a diet, restricting all these food to lose weight, but during that time, we suffer, restrict ourselves from pleasure, and don’t even enjoy the result because we are so fixated on trying to become something or feel a certain way that we lose sight of our end goal.

Becoming who you are, accepting your true self, or reconnecting with your authentic self is hard, and there will be times that we want to simply escape and be away from who we are. We don’t want to be close to ourselves, because we are afraid of what we will tell ourselves. However, the moment we find our way back to our trueness, and accept that whatever it is that we have to say is what we need to hear, then that will be the moment we stop escaping, hurting, or sabotaging ourselves. So, take some time for yourself, and fall in love with who you are once again.
