You Are Alone (in a good way)

Updated: Jul 29, 2020

As a teenager, we depend on others for many things, whether it's money, the way you look, or to see if something is okay or not. You reach the point where you can’t even rely on yourself to make simple decisions. But, there's a moment when you realize where you are alone (in the right way), and you are the one who is always going to be there for you. Some might say that being alone is awful, but it's not. It might sound a bit harsh, but we are born alone, and we will die alone. So the best person that you can rely on and hold their hand throughout your life is YOU. Friends, relationships... people in general, come and go, it's up to you if you want to depend on how you feel one day because of another person. And having friends is amazing, they can be your partners in crime, your therapists, sometimes, even your everything. And it is hard to acknowledge the fact that you are alone, but that is the fuk'd up truth. It isn't sad, and it isn't depressing. However, to learn to be alone and make yourself more reliable… you can look yourself at the mirror and tell yourself how amazing you are...that is one of the most powerful things. And... it helps to boost your confidence, and that is like a superpower. I mean having the confidence, to be able to love yourself, and spend hours learning what you like and don't… that will let you discover things that you didn't know before. Those moments of introspection, where you can hear yourself...that voice that is continuously shut by the world...are the ones that help you to find who you are. They are exceptional in everybody's life because without them. We would be lost.

By the way, confidence can help you rely on yourself and start making decisions on your own without depending on other people or even in society’s influence. But, if you learn how to be with yourself and also be with other people is even more powerful, and that will make you interdependent. And that level of "dependency" is like a victory in the social realm.

Loneliness is perceived as something that is bad, when in reality it isn't. We should start changing the meaning of the words that are given as labels or given to make someone feel pointless.
