Taking a risk means giving yourself a chance to get out of your comfort zone and trying something new and different. It may not always be what you expected. However, it can be something genuinely life-changing after realizing everything that you have gone through, and noticing that the experiences that you have surpassed have led you to become that person you are today. You have to understand that everything happens for a reason, and everything that has happened to you may not always be with the best intentions.
Nevertheless, the reason you are the way you are is that those past events have left a scar and have marked you for the rest of your life. The real deal is if you want to face them or if you want to run away from them. It’s up to you to decide.
Give yourself this task and write a letter to yourself, and nobody else. You will realize who you are and who you want to be. And most probably the reason you doubt yourself, still don’t have that amazing confidence we all look up to is perhaps that you still haven’t forgiven yourself. Now, I know this may sound crazy… I mean, why do I have to forgive myself? Well, that is up to you to realize. Once you have realized that you can forgive yourself, remove that guilt off your shoulders, accept who you are, and admit the mistakes that you have made, it will allow you to start a new and improved chapter of yourself. It may sound selfish, and the thought may be going through your mind of how forgiving yourself will help you… but trust me on this one. Because, after writing that letter, it can literally de-bloat you.
Forgiving yourself goes hand in hand to loving yourself. Because if you don’t forgive yourself, can you truly forgive another person? And if you don’t love yourself, can you truly love somebody else? I mean, think about it. It isn’t going to be easy, and it may not be as simple as you may think, but if you try it, you may even see a different side of you.
